You Want $500 in Cash... Well Read On

Hey for all you bloggers and website owners out there! Can I Make Big Money Online has got a pretty ingenious contest going out to help promote the release of there new website, "Barter Genius." I seriously think anyone interested should go out there and write a blog entry to help them. Even if you don't win, it could always help get some more page views. For more details about this contest check out their post here.

An Equation for Explosive Blogging Growth: Content + Networking + Social Media from Vandelay Website Design

Vandelay Website Design, has a lovely article. "An Equation for Explosive Blogging Growth: Content + Networking + Social Media." I highly suggest all beginning and even post-amateur bloggers read it. It has a lot of help for you.

Anyways, here is my reaction to this:

I don't think it is the content that is so much the problem. Heck, if someone really loves something (which they should if they are blogging about it), they should be able to express their ideas and what not about it. I think the networking is the hard part. Who is a good contact, and who wouldn't be helpful. Managing that time is difficult, too. Many new bloggers are at that age where they are still in school, so between homework, a real job, and social life. I have a hard time keeping all that together. Spending countless nights up, experimenting on new niches and just setting up the blogs.

Tough stuff, but nice entry.

Original Content Equals Big Views

I don't know how many times I have heard this one before, so this is going against the whole topic of this entry, but...

If you want people to subscribe, you have to have original content!

A blog that just copies what other people are saying is useless. You really need to think this stuff up on your own.

Before I write a blog, I do a lot of research. I look into the websites I am posting for you guys, scroll through all the navigation links, and block out what I will write. This makes it somewhat original, because I don't really like to look at what others are saying about this site. I will check them however if they have a great hint and pass it onto you if it is that important though.

I think what you really need though is a niche you are enthusiastic about. I love money, and what it can bring to me. So I write about it, and here you have it. If you love something, you should be able to write something original about it, right? If you can't think up of anything new, you probably don't like it. That will probably help loads if you can find that one thing you are truely passionate about and write.

I also think one should not be afraid of how much to write. Whether it 2 times a week (which I think should be the bare minimum. Don't leave your subscribers hanging too long) or 50 times, it is all important. Even the little updates add character to your blog.

So the goal for your blog should be to write freely, and untethered from other blogs and articles. If you are just writing down what others are suggesting, how can you consider that original.

I know this all seems obvious, but it is important. So write your content from your brain, not someone else's.

Money and Blogs has a new URL

That's right, I got Money and Blogs it's own domain name. You can find it here at www.moneyandblog.com. There is no S on the end of blog. So, you can expect a name change soon as well, and I am currently designing the banner for the blog. This will be the first step to success for the blog I believe!

You might have trouble accessing the page without www. at the beginning of moneyandblog. I am trying to get this sorted so you will be able to access the page from www.moneyandblog.com and moneyandblog.com. Also, using the old http, www.moneyandblogs.blogspot.com will forward you to www.moneyblog.com, so no need to worry there.

Please update your bookmarks, and prepare for some major changes here!
